Constipation-What is it and how can we get rid of it naturally?

In medical terms, constipation is defined as having less than three bowel movements per week. Most people are irregular and do not have bowel movements on a consistant basis. 49% of the US population has less than 1 bowel movment per day. The major causes for constipation include medications such narcotics, antidepressants, iron supplements, and antacids containing aluminum. Other causes of constipation can occur from habit, nutrition, hormonal disorders, and problems within the colon. Some excellent solutions for reducing constipation may include increasing your fiber intake, exercise, laxatives, and colonics. When choosing a laxative, pay close attetnion to the ingredients to ensure they are natural.

Clear Way Health has found a healthy solution made by natural herbalist, Dr. Christopher, with the brand name Turkey Rhubarb. This natural and healthy herb is used to relieve constipation and cleanse the colon. The effectiveness is measured in the amount that you take. Turkey Rhubarb is a gentle laxative produced in capsule form that strengthens the gastrointestinal tract along with toning and tightening the bodily tissues. Turkey Rhubarb is an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. Most people use Turkey Rhubarb for constipation, liver problems, diarrhea, and improve gallbladder function. If diarrhea occurs with this herb, reduce the number of capsules taken until the desired effect is achieved. Clear Way Health offers a gentle Turkey Rhubarb supplement for $25 + tax.

Colonics are another safe and healthy method to help with constipation. As the warm water flows into the rectum, the body is trained to use its anal release process in the natural way. You will begin to have more control over your bowels. In addition, colonics are an amazing way to cleanse and detoxify the liver, kidneys, and lymphatic sytem.

Colon Cleansing in the Fall

Fall is a time of transition. Summers have days filled with parties, BBQS, and eating lots of junk food. Excess sugar and overeating can leave us feeling sluggish, tired, or simply run down. The best way to get rid of those excess food toxins is to perform a light colon cleanse. Cleansing your system, or detoxing, is a healthy way to refresh your body and feel like a young person again. Here are a few time tested tips to performing a gentle and safe colon cleanse.

1. Drink water. Water is a wonderful way to flush out your system of impurities. Water re-hydrates, gives us clarity, and makes our bodies function at maximum capacity.
2. Exercise. This is a healthy way to boost your metabolism, sweat out toxins, and this will make you feel young. Find something you love to do-go for a jog, hike, weight train, or take a swim. Do something to keep you moving.
3. Eat clean. By clean, I mean greens, juicing, and organic foods. Nothing with additives or preservatives. Reduce your dairy intake. Clean eating will give you energy, natural vitamins, and build up those vital minerals. This will reduce inflammation caused by excess sugar.
4. Supplements. Taking supplements will give your system the added support it needs. Whether it's your liver, kidneys, gallbladder, adrenals, or taking probiotics, supplements will give you that added support, which you may not receive normally.
5. Colonics. What better way to clean out toxins and waste from your digestive tract, than to clean your colon from the inside out? Colonics is a fantastic way to clean out the impurities that built up from excessive eating and drinking.

Alkaline vs Acidic Foods

The answer to the alkaline verses acidic debate is balance. Arguing which is better for you will hinder the process of creating overall body health. We hear these words alkaline and acidic in terms of our diet and constitution. The question of knowing which is better for you and what foods should be consumed is an ongoing debate in the wellness industry. We should eat with a goal of creating the best balance for our bodies.

Most of the foods we consume after digestion are absorbed and metabolized into the bloodstream. These foods release either an acid or alkaline base into our system. Our blood consistently fluctuates between an alkaline and acidic base. When we eat foods that are more acidic, our system balance is thrown off, thus increasing the levels of toxins in our bodies. The causes of this imbalance are excessive fats, bad carbohydrates, sugar, alcohol, coffee, tea (not herbal) and soda. The acid causes our system to function improperly. Over acidic systems equals more inflammation and excessive mucus in the body. In order to maintain good health, we needs to be aware of what we are putting into our bodies (what we eat, drink, breathe, absorb, and what we think). Those individuals who maintain a healthy alkaline state are consuming substances such as vitamins, minerals, and water.

One good way to prevent and avoid disease is to maintain your body at a higher alkaline state. Statistically, those individuals who have a slightly higher alkaline body are healthier than those with a higher acidic state. When we eat foods and use products that allow our bodies to detoxify, we will achieve and maintain a healthier and more alkaline body. Some great examples of alkaline foods include: fresh fruits, vegetables, roots, tubers, nuts, and legumes. Mineral supplements, such as Original Quinton, are also an effective way to maintain an alkaline body. By eating alkaline foods, we free our bodies of toxins that cause us to be bloated, constipated, have poor brain function, and feel weak overall. Alkaline balance equals detoxification, higher energy levels, and weight loss.
